Buzzbnk is an on-line crowd-funding platform bringing social ventures looking for start-up or growth capital together with like-minded people keen to participate in a new way of funding social change. Social enterprises or charities can raise funding for a wide range of projects in a variety of ways, from offering fun and engaging benefits, in return for goods or services, or as a loan.
Description: Michael, also a Director of CIVA, is a well-recognised expert in fundraising, author and serial social entrepreneur. He took the lead role in setting up UnLtd (UK), the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, which received the Millennium Legacy of Ł100 million. He founded the Directory of Social Change in 1975, the UK?s leading provider of information and training to charities. He co-founded Changemakers in 1994 to find new ways of engaging young people in social action and was its Executive Chair until 2001. He founded YouthBank UK in 1998, and incubated the Otesha Project UK, FoodCycle, MyBnk and other social ventures in the UK and India. In 2013, Michael was awarded the prestigious ?Beacon Award for Pioneering Philanthropy?. In 2014, Michael was honoured with the "Outstanding Achievement Award" at The Charity Awards.
Description: Before co-founding and setting up Buzzbnk in 2009 with Michael Norton, Theresa spent 16 years as a senior manger in the private sector, delivering global e-business, internet and enterprise business solutions for two large international corporations, the most recent with Swiss Re. In 2008 she completed a Sloan Fellowship MBA/MSc at London Business School. In 2011 she was selected as a ?Make a Wave? fellow in the Ogunte programme for women social entrepreneurs.

Two leading crowdfunding platforms Trillion Fund and Buzzbnk have merged with the aim to raise finance for renewable energy and social business projects and create the UK?s largest social crowdfunding service.
It has been estimated the new business could help raise up to Ł500 million, targeting half a million crowdfunders by the end of 2017.
