Description

Flex Funding A/S is a Danish company established on December 5th 2013. It is the company's business plan to operate a unique proprietary online crowd lending (peer-to-peer lending) platform. The platform opened for customers in Denmark on September 15th 2014. After experiences from the Danish market, the platform will be launched in other countries, focusing on the market potential in Northern Europe.

Flex Funding links up small and medium sized creditworthy businesses as borrowers and the general public as lenders. The IT system and the platform is proprietary. It is developed on the basis of the Flex Funding team's in-depth experience from leading online banks such as Scandinavian Skandiabanken, the leading global online FX-Trader Saxo Bank, etc. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) has granted Flex Funding approval to conduct the peer-to-peer lending as a payment institute, and Flex Funding has with this approval passport for its activities in all EU member states as well.

Flex Funding?s aims to offer a unique online market place for money. The market place matches creditworthy SMEs seeking loans with lenders from the public seeking a better risk-adjusted return than banks and other regular financial institutions are able to offer. The loans are offered with and without security (business mortgage, property, vehicles, etc.). The interest rate is fixed with a maturity from 6 months to 10 years.

Each company is credit rated on our unique platform with a solid credit model, which is based on the team's experience from leading Scandinavian online banks and financial companies. It is the next generation platform with the most sophisticated credit model in the peer-to-peer lending market. The credit model and policy is multifaceted. It mixes traditional bank credit assessment, quantitative processes, incorporating historical-based models, market-based forward-looking models, and human judgment via the in-depth credit analysis, which are Basel II compliant. The businesses are classified into five risk classes, ranging from very low risk to average risk. Companies with a higher risk are sorted out.

Flex Funding?s market place is transparent, which aims to protect the customers. Lenders will be gained access to the market place based on an assessment of their experience and risk profile (MIFID-compliant), although loans are not included in the EU MIFID-directive. The platform recommends customers an individual portfolio diversification of all their assets, including loans to SMEs based on their experience and desired risk profile. In addition, the system provides an alternative recommendation on portfolio diversification based on Flex Funding?s recommendations, taking into account the client's age, etc., which often reduces the customer's risk. The risk class can be read by the lenders who place their bids, which consist of an amount and an interest rate, on Flex Funding?s market place in relation to risk, maturity, etc. Lenders may diversify their bids on a variety of companies (rating, industry, geographical, etc.) in order to spread their risk. Lenders may also sell their loan parts to get cash.

The entire value chain is serviced by Flex Funding, which includes onboarding lenders and borrowers, credit assessment and rating, loan documents and execution, collecting loan payments, reporting, statement of income, etc.

Flex Funding?s proprietary next generation IT-platform is developed with the highest requirements and standards for strength and security as traditional banking systems to ensure that the system, data and reliability are adequate and functioning. The IT-platform is unique for Flex Funding. It is a next generation platform for multinational peer-to-peer lending. With its artificial intelligence the proprietary platform includes automatic application/customer flow, MIFID assessment, individual account management with automatic updating and reconciliation on a daily basis, an advanced multifaceted credit assessment tool, a flexible market place prepared for scalability in the local market and as well as internationally by its multi lingual, multi-currency and multi product tools developed by Flex Funding.
